Nutcracker Information 2007
DRESS REHEARSAL – MANDATORY! – Sunday, December 9th, ALJ High School Clark. You must attend Dress Rehearsal in order to perform in the show. Levels IVA & V please plan to stay till evening hours! Hair, tights, costumes & shoes must be proper. Makeup not necessary. Times are as follows:
• BON BONS - Arrive in costume at 9:30 AM (Please plan to stay until 11:30 AM. We may be done earlier)
• ANGELS - Arrive in costume at 11 AM (Please plan to stay until 1:30 PM. We may be done earlier.)
• ALL OTHER DANCERS – Please arrive at ALJ at NOON to set up your dressing room area and to warm yourselves up. We will begin with “Party Scene” when ready and continue through the show. This will be time consuming to organize dancers, spacing, lighting & sound, so your patience is greatly appreciated.
• If you are ONLY in CHINESE OR RUSSIAN, then you may arrive at 3 PM.
TWO PERFORMANCES!! – Sunday, December 16th, ALJ High School. 1:00 PM Matinee & 4:30 PM Evening. All dancers will perform in BOTH shows EXCEPT ANGELS. Friday Ballet/Jazz is SHOW 1, Saturday Ballet/Jazz is SHOW 2. Levels II, III, IV, IVA & V please arrive at ALJ at 10:30 AM. Warm up & dance run thrus will begin approx 11 AM. The stage must be cleared at 12:30 PM SHARP!! Level I & IA please arrive at 11:30 AM for makeup & preparation and possible run thrus of dances. Angels in SHOW 2 please arrive 3:00 PM for makeup & preparation.
CHAPERONES – If you would like to volunteer as a chaperone, makeup or lobby, please sign the sheets hanging on the boards, or check with the front desk. Thank You!
DANCERS – We encourage all CDE ballet & modern students to perform in “The Nutcracker”, however if you cannot participate, please notify CDE immediately. Your classes will not be affected.
COSTUMES – Costume rental fees range from $25 - $45 per costume for handling, fitting, distribution, storage & cleaning, All costumes and accessories must be returned in excellent condition with your name on it to avoid further charges. These costumes are expensive and must be taken care of. You will be notified when your child’s class has been fitted. There will be special fitting days for Bon Bons & Soldiers on Saturday, Nov 17th, 11-2 PM and for Party Scene Girls Level IA & Angels on Saturday, December 1st. All costumes picked up after December 2nd will be charged an extra $10 fee.
PARTY SCENE – All dancers and performers in Party Scene are required to attend a Mandatory rehearsal so that we are prepared before dress rehearsal. Party Scene is very long and includes a large number of performers on stage at once, so an extra rehearsal is necessary…and fun! Date is Sunday, December 2nd, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Party Scene includes Ballet/Jazz I Monday, Ballet/Jazz IA Tuesday, Ballet III Monday, Girl Doll, Boy Doll, Toy Soldier, Drosselmeyer, Claras, & the Moms & Dads performing.
BETWEEN SHOW 1 & SHOW 2 – Levels II, III, IV, IVA & V MAY NOT LEAVE between performances. Please bring food/snacks/drinks to ALJ. Level I & IA may leave with parents to eat and return by 3:30 pm the latest to redress and prepare for second show. We will be selling sandwiches and drinks at dress rehearsal and the performances.
VIDEO – 359 Productions will be taping both performances of The Nutcracker. Forms will be available to order the DVDs of the performance.
TICKETS – Tickets will go on sale December 1st and are $20 each. All audience members, including young children, must have a wristband ticket to enter the theater. Group rates are available for religious groups and girl scouts/brownies. Please see the desk for details.
